Azeez Mohammed

Azeez Mohammed is the current Venture Advisor & Executive-in-Residence at Neotribe Ventures. Prior to this, they served as the Executive Vice President at Bloom Energy from January 2020 to December 2021.

At Bloom Energy, Azeez was responsible for reorganizing the business from a HQ model to seven empowered standalone business units. Azeez also developed and executed a turnaround plan to restructure the business. Under their leadership, the company was able to reduce manufacturing footprint in line with revenue profile & expanded EBITDA by $200MM. In addition, they created a standalone $440MM Aftermarket Services unit resulting in 15% margin CAGR.

Azeez has a proven track record of driving results through Lean / Six Sigma in engineering and manufacturing. Azeez was able to reduce cost of quality by $90MM while refocusing the business on profitable bespoke systems. Azeez also successfully exited $400MM of non-core products and carved out and sold GE Motors ($150 Revenue) for a healthy multiple, de-risking the portfolio in the process.

Azeez Mohammed has earned a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the same school, and a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras.
