Dr. Umesh B Khanna is a Consultant Nephrologist & Transplant Physician based in Mumbai. He is the Medical Director of NephroPlus, Boriwali West, Mumbai, and also practicing at Lancelot Kidney & GI Centre in Borivali West.
Dr. Khanna did his undergraduate and postgraduate medical education at Seth G S Medical College and KEM Hospital in Mumbai.
Dr. Khanna has been in private practice since May 1987. He has vast experience in Clinical Nephrology, Haemodialysis, Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD), Kidney Transplants, Critical Care Medicine, CAVH, CAVHD & IPD, and Hypertension.
Dr. Khanna has set up the Nephrology Department for several hospitals and clinics. He was the first to establish the concept of free-standing dialysis units or satellite/community dialysis centers in India and has set up 16 such units in Mumbai. He was also the first to come up with the concept of Nephrologist-owned-and-managed private dialysis units in Mumbai.
