Peter Thirup Baeck has extensive work experience in various roles and organizations. Peter Thirup began their career as an intern at the Danish Embassy in Japan, where they worked on Japan's political and economic role in East Asia and global affairs. Following this, Baeck worked at Infopaq as a member of the editorial staff, responsible for media search, monitoring, and analysis. Peter Thirup then joined The Innovation Unit Limited as a project coordinator and researcher, where they played a key role in coordinating and managing projects focused on healthcare, innovation labs, and public sector efficiency. Currently, Baeck is employed at Nesta, where they have held several positions, including policy advisor, principal researcher, head of collaborative economy research, and most recently, director of the Centre for Collective Intelligence Design. Overall, Baeck has gained a diverse range of experiences in research, policy, and innovation throughout their career.

Peter Thirup Baeck has a strong educational background in politics and public administration. Peter Thirup obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Politics and Public Administration from Aalborg University in 2007.
