Nathan Anderson serves as Co-Founder and Executive Producer at New Canvas, an award-winning immersive media studio, where responsibilities include overseeing all company functions and project development. In addition, Nathan holds various significant roles, including Board Member at the Interactive Games & Entertainment Association and Emerging Media Peer Group Member at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Nathan is also recognized as a founding member of the Byron Bay XR Collective, actively fostering the immersive community in Northern Rivers, NSW, Australia. Previously, Nathan occupied leadership positions such as Interim General Manager at Toast Interactive and Executive Consultant and Co-founder at Start Beyond, contributing extensive experience in production, strategy, and interactive design across various high-profile projects. Educational qualifications include a Masters of Arts (Honours) in Multiplatform Media from the Australian Film Television and Radio School.

New Canvas is a XR studio established in December 2020, spun out of Start Beyond (previously Start VR) and helmed by emerging media veterans Nathan Anderson and Wadooah Wali, the company has offices in Australia and USA. The company self-publishes existing titles produced by Start Beyond as well as developing, producing and self-publishing new projects. New Canvas is dedicated to the evolution of immersive media and the adapted forms of storytelling with an unapologetic focus on diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in Web3 and the Metaverse.
