Mr. Michael Minhong Yu is the founder of our company and has served as the chairman of our board of directors since August 2001. He was also our chief executive officer from 2001 to September 2016. Mr. Yu also serves as Standing Committee Member of the Central Committee of the China Democratic League. Formerly, Mr. Yu served as Vice Chairman of China Youth Entrepreneurs Association. Mr. Yu currently serves as the chairman of the board and non-executive director of Koolearn (HKEX:1797), and was a director of Sunlands Technology Group (NYSE:STG) from August 2017 (and an independent director from March 2018) to June 2019.
Prior to founding our first school in 1993, Mr. Yu was an English instructor at Peking University from 1985 and 1991. Mr. Yu received his bachelor’s degree in English from Peking University.
