Brenda Williams, CDE, has a strong background in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Brenda most recently served as the Chief Diversity Officer at New York Public Radio, where they led efforts to build a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture within the organization. Prior to that, they held the role of Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the same company. In this position, they provided thought leadership on hiring, retention, and employee engagement policies. Before their senior leadership roles, Brenda was the Senior Director of Community Engagement & Audience Development at New York Public Radio, where they played a crucial role in cultivating new voices and engaging with a diverse audience. Brenda also has experience as a Director of Community Engagement at the same company. Prior to their work at New York Public Radio, Brenda was a Manager of Community Affairs at WNYC Radio. Brenda started their career as a Project Manager at Sesame Workshop. Throughout their various roles, Brenda has consistently focused on DEI initiatives, content diversification, and recruitment and retention strategies.
