Maria Sapar

Maria Sapar has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Maria recently worked at The New York Stem Cell Foundation Research Institute, starting in 2019 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and later progressing to roles as Associate Staff Scientist and Staff Scientist. Prior to this, Maria was involved in a doctoral program at Cornell University from 2013 to 2019, where they conducted research on peripheral sensory neuron and phagocyte interactions. Maria also worked as a Research Assistant at the Research Foundation of CUNY from 2011 to 2013, studying cell adhesion molecules and assisting in the generation of gene-targeted animals. Before that, Maria gained research experience as a Research Assistant at Hunter College and completed specialized research training there. Maria also worked as a Summer Intern at the Marine Biological Laboratory. In the early stages of their career, Maria began as a Data Entry personnel at Weill Cornell Medical College and volunteered at the King David Rehabilitation Center.

Maria Sapar completed their education from 2006 to 2010 at Hunter College, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology, General. Later, from 2013 to 2019, they pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in BMCB at Cornell University.
