Jillian Newell

Jillian Newell is a skilled Mining Application Specialist at Newmont Corporation, with expertise in optimizing mining operations through automation and technology. Since May 2019, Jillian has led projects involving Microsoft PowerApps and SQL databases, as well as managing the implementation of Sandvik's OptiMine dispatch system in underground applications. Prior experiences include serving as President of UBC Mine Rescue, where Jillian coordinated training and competitions in collaboration with industry professionals, and completing engineering co-op positions focused on drill and blast operations, quality control, and field engineering. Jillian holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mining Engineering from the University of British Columbia and began a career in esthetics at the Grotto Spa at Tigh na Mara.
