John Porter has extensive experience in investment management and leadership roles. John is currently serving as the Chief Investment Officer of Equities and Portfolio Manager at Newton Investment Management Group, where they oversee the management of all equity strategies and leads a team of over 75 investment professionals. Prior to this, they were an Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer at Mellon and also served as the Lead Portfolio Manager of the Small Mid Cap Equity Team. John has held various positions throughout their career, including being the President of Seaward Management Co and the Chief Investment Officer of JP3 Capital Management. John has also served as a committee member at The Rivers School and a trustee at The Meadowbrook School of Weston. Before these roles, they worked as a Portfolio Manager at Fidelity Investments.

John Porter earned a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering and a Master of Science from the University of Michigan between 1987 and 1991. Following this, they obtained an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago from 1993 to 1995.
