Rui Costa

Rui Costa has extensive work experience. Rui began their career in 2010 as a Multimedia Developer for the MIT Portugal Program. In 2012, they were awarded a Scholarship for the Development of Multimedia Content from Instituto Superior Técnico and a Scholarship for Academic Learning Platform Development from the same institution. In the same year, they co-founded Kairos Society Portugal and was a Fellow there. In 2013, they co-founded The Startup Scholarship and was the CTO, and they also joined Veniam as CTO, Managing Director (USA) and Director of Product. In 2022, they joined Nexar Inc. as Chief Architect + Engineering Lead: Edge AI and Data Platform.

Rui Costa obtained a Masters (MSc) in Networks and Communications Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico between 2007 and 2013. In 2011, they were certified by the IEEE Educational Activities Board for the IEEE Teacher In-Service Program (TISP). In 2005, they obtained a 1º Dan (black-belt) of Judo from the Federação Portuguesa de Judo.
