Ian Burgess is the President and CTO of Validere Technologies, overseeing an emissions and commodity management platform utilized by over 50 companies in the fields of energy, carbon removal, and nature-based solutions since February 2015. In addition to this role, Ian serves as a Board Member at NEXT Canada and as both Venture Partner and Senior Venture Partner at Pioneer Fund, which supports Y Combinator alumni startups. Ian's distinguished academic background includes a PhD in Applied Physics from Harvard University, where research focused on nanoscale optics and adaptive materials.
