Co-Founder, Scientist II at NextRNA Therapeutics

Leon Wert-Lamas is a scientist and co-founder at NextRNA Therapeutics. Leon received their BA in Biology from Harvard University in 2012 and their PhD in Cancer Biology from the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in 2018. Their research has focused on understanding the role of microRNAs in cancer. In July 2020, they joined the faculty of Harvard Medical School as a Research Associate. In August 2021, they will join NextRNA Therapeutics as a Scientist II.

After completing their undergraduate veterinary degree at Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Leon Wert-Lamas pursued a Master's in Veterinary Medicine at the same school. Leon then did a PhD in Biomedicine and Biotechnology at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid before completing a postdoctoral fellowship in RNA medicine at Harvard Medical School.
