Bassey Akpan

Bassey Akpan, Psy.D., CMPC, currently serves as the Senior Wellness Manager at the NFL Players Association, a position held since June 2022. Prior experience includes roles as a Psychologist & Diversity Specialist-Athletics at Texas A&M University, Athletic Counselor as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Pepperdine University, and Counseling Psychology Intern at The University of Akron. Bassey Akpan began professional experience as a Graduate Assistant at Springfield College and worked in various administrative capacities, notably at UC Irvine, where responsibilities included supporting financial and business operations in the Office of the Chancellor. Educational qualifications include a Doctorate and Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Springfield College, a Master of Science in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from California State University-Long Beach, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of California, Irvine.
