Laura Ip

Regional Council Member at Niagara Region

Laura Ip has extensive experience in community leadership and organizational development, currently serving as Regional Councillor for Niagara Region and a Board Member for Niagara Regional Police Service. As the Founder, President, and Head Coach of Underdogs Boxing Club since February 2017, Laura has created a non-profit organization focused on empowering individuals through recreational boxing. Consulting work has been conducted since 2014, leveraging strong writing and research skills to assist organizations in development projects. Additional project management and coordination roles include work with Gillian's Place on media reporting and trauma healing initiatives, as well as OUTniagara, focusing on advancing 2SLGBTQ+ equality. Laura's educational background includes a Master's in Social Justice and Equity Studies and various certificates in Non-Profit Management and Leadership.
