David Archer

David Archer is the Chief Technology Officer at Niobium Microsystems since September 2020, previously serving as Principal Investigator at Galois, Inc. from July 2011 to February 2025. David has led research and development in secure multi-party computation, cryptography, and cybersecurity. Additional experience includes a fixed-term faculty role at Portland State University, where David developed and instructed graduate and undergraduate courses in computer architecture and machine-level programming. Previous positions include Director of Engineering & Marketing at Mentor Graphics, focusing on R&D and business development, and Director of Engineering at Intel Corporation, overseeing the development and productization of server and workstation chipsets. David holds an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a PhD in Computer Science and Data-intensive systems from Portland State University.
