Tsutomu Hakeda

Tsutomu Hakeda serves as the President and General Manager of the HQ Port Transportation Division at NX GROUP (NIPPON EXPRESS GROUP) since May 2021. Prior to this role, Tsutomu Hakeda was the President of NIPPON EXPRESS (SHANGHAI) CO., LTD from May 2018 to May 2021, and held the position of General Manager at NIPPON EXPRESS GROUP from May 2016 to April 2018. From March 2013 to March 2016, Tsutomu Hakeda was the Executive Director at Portek International Pte Ltd, overseeing overall management, port equipment engineering, port operation, and global logistics. Additional experience includes serving as Chief Marketing Officer for Port Equipment Engineering and Port Operation and Management, as well as Assistant Group General Manager at Nippon Express, focusing on port terminal operations and international ocean freight logistics. Earlier in the career, Tsutomu Hakeda managed departments for total logistics in import and export at Nippon Express USA. Education includes a Bachelor of Mercantile Marine Science from Tokyo University of Mercantile Marine, obtained in 1985.
