Shahzad Saleem has extensive experience in various leadership roles. Shahzad started their career in 1989 as the Chief Executive Officer of Nishat Chunian Ltd, where they later became the Chief Executive. In 2009, they became the Chairman of Nishat Chunian Power Ltd. Since 2016, they have served as the Chairman of the Board at Saleem Memorial Trust Hospital.
Shahzad Saleem has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in Finance, General from Lahore University of Management Sciences, which they completed from 1987 to 1989. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) degree in Business from Karachi University from 1984 to 1987. Before their bachelor's degree, Shahzad studied Engineering at Karachi University, completing their FSc degree from 1982 to 1984. Shahzad started their education journey at PAF Model School and completed their Matric degree from 1974 to 1982.

From a modest start in 1990 with a spinning mill of only 14,400 spindles, the company today has a vertically integrated textile company which prides itself of being the fourth largest textile company in Pakistan (in terms of turnover).
