Brendan O'Dea

Brendan O'Dea is an experienced optical engineer with a robust background in fiber laser development and design. Currently serving as a Distinguished Laser Engineer at nLIGHT, Inc. since March 2018, Brendan has progressed through various engineering roles including Principal Fiber Laser Engineer and Senior Fiber Laser Development Engineer. Prior experience includes a tenure as Senior Design Engineer at Timbercon from September 2009 to March 2018, as well as roles as an Engineering Intern focusing on optical fiber components and Graduate Student at the University of Oregon, where Brendan constructed an optical phase microscope and developed a prototype fiber laser. Brendan holds a Master of Science in Applied Physics from the University of Oregon and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from California State University, Chico, alongside earlier experience as a Help Desk Analyst providing technical support.
