Ian Korr

Ian Korr, SPHR, serves as the Human Resources Director at the Northern Manhattan Improvement Corporation (NMIC) since April 2022. Previously, Ian held the same role at Gaffney-Kroese Supply Co from August 2013 to March 2022, where responsibilities included leading the Human Resources function for a global procurement and energy equipment distribution company. Ian's extensive experience also includes directing Human Resources at S. Katzman Produce, where management of complex labor relations with the largest domestic union was a key focus. Additional roles include Director of Human Resources Operations at the Law Offices of Michael S. Lamonsoff, Human Resources Manager and Office Manager at Katzman and Korr, and earlier positions at American Express and the New York Compensation Insurance Rating Board. Ian holds a BA in History from the University of Florida and continues studies at Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law.

NMIC was founded in 1979 to serve the low-income residents of Upper Manhattan. Our mission is to serve as a catalyst for positive change in the lives of the people in our community on their paths to secure and prosperous futures. Through our work, we preserve affordable housing through legal services, community organizing, and building weatherization, promote economic self-sufficiency with adult education and workforce development and offer supports of social services, health education, and domestic violence intervention. All NMIC services are free and bilingual in English and Spanish.
