Jorn van der Meer has a diverse work experience, ranging from public affairs and communications roles to policy advising and diplomatic training. Earlier in their career, they held positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Netherlands, including Policy Officer, Diplomatic Training, and Policy advisor roles. Additionally, they briefly worked at the Dutch Embassy in Indonesia in the Political section.
Jorn van der Meer has a comprehensive education history. In 2005, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in International Development from Wageningen University & Research. Jorn further pursued a Master's degree in International Development, conflict, and migration from the same institution, which they completed in 2007. Jorn also attended Hult Ashridge in 2016 for the HEINEKEN International Management of Development Excellence Course (HIMDEC). In 2018, they attended Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, where they earned a degree in Corporate Branding & Brand Desire, specializing in Corporate Communication. In 2014, they attended the Bucerius Summer School on Global Governance, focusing on International Relations and Affairs. Moreover, Jorn completed the Harvard Negotiations Training program at the Harvard Negotiation Institute in 2019. In terms of additional certifications, they hold a Crisis Communication and Reputation Risk Management certification from LinkedIn Learning and a Professional Scrum Master Certification PSM I from Scrum.org.
