Jim Fitch has extensive work experience in the field of machine lubrication and oil analysis. Jim is the founder and CEO of Noria Corporation since 1998, where they lead the company in offering consulting, training, and publishing services related to lubrication and reliability engineering. In 2001, they also founded the International Council for Machinery Lubrication (ICML) and serves as its director. ICML is a vendor-neutral, not-for-profit organization that promotes the growth and development of machine lubrication as a technical field of endeavor and offers skill certification testing for individuals in related fields. Prior to these ventures, Jim Fitch founded and served as CEO of Diagnetics, Inc. from 1982 to 1997. Diagnetics, Inc. is the largest manufacturer of onsite oil analysis instruments and ISO-compliant filter test stands. Jim's innovative work includes designing and patenting the world's first pore-blockage particle counter, which is widely used in oil analysis laboratories worldwide.

Jim Fitch has a diverse education history. Jim began their higher education at Eastern Oklahoma State College from 1976 to 1977, where they pursued Pre-Engineering and obtained an Associate of Science degree. Subsequently, in 1977 and 1978, Jim attended the Georgia Institute of Technology, majoring in Industrial and Systems Engineering, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering (BSIE). After a brief gap, they continued their education at The University of Tulsa from 1980 to 1981, where they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration.
