North Carolina Zoo
Robin Petersen is a seasoned animal caretaker currently serving as a North Woods Zookeeper at North Carolina Zoo since April 2022. Previously, Robin held various positions such as Temporary Zookeeper at White Oak Conservation, focusing on rhino and ungulate care, and Avian Husbandry & Management Intern at Sylvan Heights Bird Park. Overall experience includes roles at Heritage Animal Hospital as a Veterinary Assistant, Duke Lemur Center as a Technician Assistant, Teamworks Dog Training as a Dog Trainer, and Cosley Zoo as an Animal Care Intern. Educated at North Carolina State University with a B.S. in Animal Sciences and minors in Psychology and Agricultural Business Management, Robin also pursued training at the Karen Pryor Academy.
