Liesl V. Downey is the VP for Institutional Advancement at Northeastern Illinois University. As Vice President for Institutional Advancement, she is responsible for strengthening and advancing Northeastern through strategic initiatives, programs, and campaigns executed by the unit's Offices of Alumni Relations, Development, and Public Relations; raising awareness for and building and enhancing the University’s reputation within the community, across the nation and around the world.

Previously, Liesl was an Acting Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Northeastern Illinois University.

Liesl earned her B.A. in Studio Art, Art History from Indiana University Bloomington in 2001.
