Yonni Fushman

Chief Legal Officer & EVP, Sustainability at Northland Power Inc

Yonni has over 20 years of professional experience as a lawyer. He started his legal career in private practice at a large Boston law firm in 2001 before joining the in-house legal department of Aecon Group Inc., an iconic Canadian construction company, where between 2017 and 2022 he served as Chief Legal Officer, Chief Sustainability Officer, and Corporate Secretary. In that role, Yonni built an award-winning, national legal team and developed expertise in various areas, including complex projects, corporate governance, M&A, strategic procurement, risk management, and compliance. Yonni took an active leadership role in developing Aecon's strategic plan and shaping a number of emerging issues in the construction industry and served as Chair of the Ontario Bar Association’s Construction and Infrastructure Law section.

Yonni earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, in Economics from the University of Southern California and a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Boston University School of Law. He is called to the bar in Ontario, California, and Massachusetts and holds a number of sustainability-related designations.
