Dawn Isabel has extensive experience in the security field. Dawn began their career in 2000 working as an Applications Developer for Web Elite. In 2002, they became a Research Assistant at the University of Michigan. In 2003, they joined Ford Motor Company as an Incident Response Team Lead/Ethical Hack Analyst, a senior incident handler responsible for development and communication of global incident response standards and procedures. Dawn also provided support and guidance for less-experienced analysts and was a member of the ethical hack team responsible for performing ethical hacks of applications and infrastructure, vulnerability research and analysis, and technical security consulting. In 2008, they returned to the University of Michigan as a Technical Lead for Penetration Testing and Vulnerability Management. In 2013, they joined Hewlett Packard Enterprise as a Security Researcher and Mobile Tools Team Lead, then as a Mobile Security Consultant. In 2016, they became a Senior Consultant at IOActive, Inc. and in 2019, they were promoted to Senior Director of Research and then Director of Research at NowSecure.

Dawn Isabel attended Wayne State University from 1996 to 2000, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Dawn then went on to the University of Michigan, where they completed their Master of Science in Computer Science and Engineering in 2003.
