Bing Xiao began their work experience in 2010 as an Optical Design Engineer at the Beijing Research Institute of Remote-Sensing devices. Bing then worked as an Optical Design Architect at the Beijing Innovation Center of Luoyang Institute of Electro-Optical devices from December 2013 to September 2016, and as a Project Manager & Optical Design Architect from December 2014 to November 2016. In 2016, Xiao joined Beijing 7Invensun Technology Co., Ltd. as a Senior Optical Engineer until January 2017. Since January 2017, they have been serving as the Co-Founder, VP, and Chief Optical Engineer at nreal.

Bing Xiao completed their education at Zhejiang University. Bing obtained a Bachelor's degree in Information Engineering (Photoelectric direction) from 2003 to 2007. Subsequently, they pursued a Master's degree in Optical Engineering from 2007 to 2010. Aside from their academic qualifications, Bing Xiao also holds additional certifications. In 2005, they received the National Computer Rank Examination Certificate, Grade 2, from the National Education Examinations Authority, the Ministry of Education of China. Bing also obtained the CET 6 certificate from the National College English Testing Committee in December 2005. In August 2012, they received the Qualification certificate of speciality and technology: Intermediate Engineer from China Aerospace Science & Industry Corporation (CASIC).
