Ryan Simard

Ryan Simard is a Senior Scientist at NuChem Sciences since May 2021, specializing in the conceptualization and execution of multi-step syntheses for complex small molecules that meet client specifications. Prior to this role, Ryan completed a PhD in Organic Chemistry at the Institut de recherches cliniques de Montréal (IRCM) from May 2016 to June 2021, focusing on synthetic routes to Sialyl Lewis X glycomimetics as selectin antagonists. Earlier experiences include positions as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in several laboratories, where Ryan contributed to projects involving organophosphorus compounds, molecular intermediates for enzyme-catalyzed reactions, and nucleoside analogs with anti-cancer properties. Ryan holds a Bachelor's Degree in Biopharmaceutical Science with a specialization in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Ottawa.
