Dave Freeman has worked in the software development industry since 2006. Dave began their career at Zero One Design Inc. as a Web Application Developer and Web Developer, where they worked on large scale virtual museum exhibits funded by Virtual Museums Canada. Dave then moved to the University of Victoria as a Web Application Developer, where they planned, designed and implemented features on the information management system used by the co-op department. Dave also created a custom CMS to support the transition from the legacy web site.
In 2010, Dave moved to Neverblue, where they worked as a Marketing Compliance Analyst and an Intermediate Web Developer. As an Intermediate Web Developer, they developed a Fraud Detection tool designed to identify potentially fraudulent affiliates operating on the network.
In 2012, Dave joined Kano Applications Inc. as a Software Engineer, where they led development of a pre-production prototype HTML5 game, implemented using Typescript and React. Dave also designed and implemented an JS/TS mobile application framework which runs on Cordova and allows for rapid development and deployment of HTML5 apps via App Store / Google Play.
In 2018, Dave moved to KIXEYE, where they worked as a Software Engineer on the War Commander Browser team. Dave implemented and maintained features in an extremely complex mature massively multiplayer online strategy game, using the technology stack of Actionscript / PHP / C++ / Scala / Python.
In 2020, Dave joined MakeShift as a Senior Software Developer. Finally, in 2021, they moved to Nudge, where they are currently working as a Senior Software Engineer.
Dave Freeman completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Visual Arts from the University of Victoria in 2006. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and Greek and Roman Studies from the University of Victoria in 2002.
