About the Role

Our software team is growing and we are looking for an experienced individual to lead some top-notch ML researchers. Machine Learning is an essential cornerstone of the work we do and you'll be making a massive impact. We want to use advanced machine learning techniques to accelerate the software development. You would be working alongside them and some of the brightest minds from academia and industry experts in this field.

About the Work

• Lead a team of software engineers and research scientists to develop advanced machine learning techniques solving complex problems across our self-driving stack.
• Steer the direction for your team, and help define the vision and strategy for achieving the milestones.
• Guide technical aspects of the development, resource allocation, and planning, design and implementation, etc.
• Work closely with other teams and leads to understand their needs and address their pain points, communicate for clarity, and align on priorities.
• Attract, manage, retain a diverse high-performing team, and provide career growth opportunities.

About You

• You have deep expertise and prior experience in some or many of the following areas: machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, reinforcement learning, generative modeling, etc.
• You have critical thinking to tackle challenging research problems, are resilient to failure, and have a passion to deploy the solutions into the product.
• You are a quick learner, a hard worker, and a good team player.
• You have 2+ years of experience in leading and managing projects and collaborating with cross functional teams.
• You have an advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Machine Learning or Computer Science (or other related fields) or have seasoned industry experience in related fields.

Bonus Points

• You have experience and are eager to manage, grow and coach junior and senior team members to achieve high performance.
• You have experience in building and architecting large-scale, production-quality machine learning systems.
• You are passionate about self-driving technology and its potential impact to society.
• You are an adept programmer and can write high-quality code (C++ preferred)
