Xuan Gao is a civil/structural engineer with extensive experience in structural and earthquake engineering. Currently serving as a Civil/Structural Engineer II at NuScale Power since October 2024, Xuan previously worked at Alta Dynamics, Inc. as a Software Engineer in Computational Mechanics, contributing to the development of commercial FEA software. Prior roles include R&D Scientist I at MiTek, where Xuan led product development and conducted finite element analyses, and Structural Design Engineer at LERA Consulting Structural Engineers, focusing on modeling and vibration analysis. Educational background includes a Ph.D. in Structural and Earthquake Engineering from the University at Buffalo, where Xuan also served as a graduate research assistant and instructor. Further studies were completed with a Master's degree in the same field from the University at Buffalo and a Bachelor's degree from Shanghai Normal University.
