Heritage of Pride is a not-for-profit corporation that organizes LGBTQIA+ events in New York City to commemorate and celebrate the Stonewall riots. These events are organized for and on behalf of all LGBTQIA+ individuals and groups, and all others who support the struggle for the liberation of these communities. In the spirit of Stonewall, Heritage of Pride welcomes the participation of all, regardless of age, creed, gender, gender identification, HIV status, national origin, physical, mental or developmental ability, race, religion or sexual origin. Founded in 1984, Heritage of Pride took over the planning New York City Pride events from the disbanded Christopher Street Liberation Day Committee, former organizers of the March and Rally, and the Christopher Street Festival Committee, the former organizers of the Festival. While HOP's individual members set broad group policy, the organization is governed by a 14 person Executive Board elected by its membership. NYC Pride hosted WorldPride June 1 - 30, 2019 for the 50th anniversary of Stonewall.
