Stuart MacLean has worked in the software and technology industry since 1998. Stuart began their career as a Systems Analyst at Halifax Regional Police in 1998. In 2004, they moved to Wilson Fuel Co. Limited as a Software Developer and Systems Analyst. In 2011, they joined Spin Master Ltd. as a Software Developer, where they developed software and firmware for numerous embedded systems, including an award-winning radio controlled (R/C) smart toy that has sold over 200,000 units. Stuart also designed and developed a telemetry system with real-time data visualization that was integral to the rapid development of new smart toys. In 2014, they joined Nymi as Director, Product & Technology, Technical Product Manager, Firmware Lead, and Senior Firmware/Software Developer.
Stuart MacLean obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from York University in 2013. Prior to that, they obtained their Master of Computer Science from Dalhousie University. Stuart also holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) in Management Information Systems from Dalhousie University.
