Eileen Murphy is Senior Counselor and Head of Executive Communication at The New York Times. Prior to joining The Times, Ms. Murphy served as a consultant to the NY-based Rosenkranz Foundation and its Intelligence Squared US debate series and also as a consultant to The Paley Center for Media's Industry Programs Group. From August 2005 to May 2008, Ms. Murphy was SVP, Corporate Communications at Gemstar-TV Guide where they managed all media relations activities for the publicly traded company. Eileen oversaw internal and external communications and all strategic communications and marketing activities related to transforming and extending the reach of the TV Guide brand. Ms. Murphy served as the chief corporate spokesperson and as corporate liaison to various industry organizations. Eileen managed communications personnel in all divisions and businesses as well as several agency relationships. Ms. Murphy worked collaboratively with investor relations on all financial communications activities.

Eileen Murphy completed their BS in Communications/Business Administration at St. John's University. Eileen then pursued a career in journalism, studying at Royal Holloway, University of London.
