Adriana Villavicencio

Assistant Professor at New York University

Adriana Villavicencio, PhD, currently serves as an Assistant Professor at New York University since August 2024. As an author for the Harvard Education Publishing Group, Adriana published "Am I My Brother’s Keeper? Educational Opportunities and Outcomes for Black and Brown Boys," which explores strategies for embedding racial equity in educational practices. Previously, Adriana held an Assistant Professorship at UC Irvine and spent nearly a decade at The Research Alliance for New York City Schools, first as Deputy Director, where leadership included shaping research agendas and securing over $9 million in grants, and later as a Senior Research Associate. Early career experience includes teaching and administrative roles at various educational institutions, including Inventure Academy in India and University Preparatory Charter School in Oakland, California. Adriana earned a PhD in Educational Leadership from New York University and holds an MA in English Education and a BA in English from Columbia University.
