Pat Toney

Pat Toney, MLIS, is a seasoned Children's Services Librarian at Oakland Public Library, with a career that spans various roles within the organization since 2012. Current responsibilities include professional supervision, collection management, and programming for diverse age groups. As Treasurer for Bibiotecas Para La Gente since 2010, Pat ensures timely financial reporting and budget approval. Pat also serves as Social Media Chair for the Association of Children's Librarians of Northern California, and previously held significant positions with the American Library Association and California Librarians Black Caucus. An advocate for early literacy, Pat has experience in community outreach and bilingual programming, supported by an educational background that includes a Master's in Library and Information Science and a Master's in Counseling Psychology, among others.
