Sharon McKellar is the Supervising Librarian for Teen Services at Oakland Public Library. Sharon has worked in libraries for over 20 years, starting as a Librarian Trainee at Brooklyn Public Library in 2000. In their current role, Sharon oversees a team of librarians who provide services and programming to teens at the Oakland Public Library. Sharon is passionate about their work and is committed to providing equitable access to information and resources for all.

Sharon McKellar has a Master of Library & Information Science from Queens College, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from The George Washington University, and a High School Diploma from Lexington High School.

Sharon McKellar reports to Jamie Turbak, Director of Library Services. They work with Nina Lindsay - Director of Library Services, Jiao Han - Library IT & Technical Services Manager, and Jenera Burton - Supervising Librarian, Branches.
