Brian Bierley

Brian Bierley is an experienced public/media relations professional with a comprehensive background in managing media interactions across various sectors, including education, healthcare, and professional sports. Currently serving as the Senior Director of Public/Media Relations at Oakland University since December 2013, Brian oversees media engagement, leading a team that produces 250 to 323 news stories annually. Prior to this role, Brian spent over a decade at Beaumont Health System as a Senior Media Relations Representative and held positions in media relations for the Detroit Pistons and other sports teams. Brian's early career included experience as a media relations director for the Detroit Vipers and involvement in the PGA Championship as a volunteer sports information director. Brian holds a BA in Kinesiology and Sports Management from the University of Michigan, where Brian also gained valuable experience as a student manager for the men's basketball team.
