Oakland Zoo
Dominic Dowdy-Windsor is an experienced professional in the fields of education and employee development, currently serving as the Manager of Engagement & Employee Development at Oakland Zoo since March 2022. Prior to this role, Dominic worked as the Fine & Performing Arts Coordinator at Saint Louis University from February 2021 to March 2022, and held various positions at STAGES St. Louis, including Director of Education and Outreach and Associate Director of Education & Outreach from September 2015 to February 2021. Dominic's early career included serving as the Department & Media Associate at Webster University from November 2014 to July 2015. Educational credentials include a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and a Bachelor's Degree in Musical Theatre from Missouri Baptist University and Lindenwood University, respectively, along with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Education from Missouri Baptist University.

Oakland Zoo was established in 1922 and is managed by the Conservation Society of California, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of wildlife both locally and globally. The Zoo is home to over 700 native and exotic animals. We're recognized for our outstanding animal care, particularly our elephant care program, and for our Leed-certified, 17,000 square foot, state-of-the-art veterinary hospital—the largest wild animal veterinary facility in Northern California.
