Oakland Zoo
Gail Truman serves as a docent volunteer at the Oakland Zoo, contributing to the education department since June 2023. As the principal consultant and owner of Truman Technologies since January 2010, Gail focuses on enhancing data storage solutions and digital repositories for technology firms and end customers. In current roles at Oracle as a principal product manager and previously at Scality as a senior technical marketing engineer, Gail demonstrated expertise in cloud infrastructure and technical marketing. Past experiences include significant positions at Sun Microsystems, Arrow Electronics, and Encore Computer Corporation, encompassing business development, compliance archiving, and product management roles. Gail's educational background includes a Digital Archives Specialist Certificate from the Society of American Archivists and a BS in Computer Science and Marketing from Nova Southeastern University.

Oakland Zoo
Oakland Zoo was established in 1922 and is managed by the Conservation Society of California, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of wildlife both locally and globally. The Zoo is home to over 700 native and exotic animals. We're recognized for our outstanding animal care, particularly our elephant care program, and for our Leed-certified, 17,000 square foot, state-of-the-art veterinary hospital—the largest wild animal veterinary facility in Northern California.
