Shuyang Wang has over 9 years of experience in the security industry. From 2022 to present, they have been the Head of Security Research at Obsidian Security. Prior to that, they worked at Google from 2017 to 2022, first as a Lead Senior Security Engineer and then as a Security Engineer. From 2013 to 2017, they worked at Apple as a Senior Security Engineer, where they performed security architecture reviews, code audits, and provided security guidance and training. Shuyang also conducted exploit-mitigation research and invented and implemented kernel-NULL pointer dereference mitigation through compiler code generation with low performance cost. Additionally, they built various static analysis checkers to find memory corruption and information leak vulnerabilities and invented and implemented memory tracking technology. From 2012 to 2013, they worked at NVIDIA as a System Software Engineering Intern, where they implemented a windbg plugin module and designed and developed user space app and kernel space driver to config and test DisplayPort type devices.

Shuyang Wang received a Master in Information Security Technology & Management from Carnegie Mellon University in 2013. Prior to that, they attended East China University of Science and Technology. No additional certifications have been reported.
