Majid Nabavi

Majid Nabavi serves as the Head of Digitalization for the Equipment Business Line within the Surface Solutions Segment at Oerlikon since August 2012, where responsibilities include defining and designing the OSS Equipment IoT platform and leading digital activities. Previous roles include Metco Digitalization Lead and Head of Digitalization Technology, focusing on transforming traditional businesses through digital solutions and implementing organizational changes for sustained digital capabilities. Additionally, Majid led the Digital Transformation initiative, utilized AI and Machine Learning in thermal spray technologies, and managed multidisciplinary teams in product development and R&D projects. Academic experience includes a Lecturer position at ETH Zurich, where Majid designed a course on novel energy technologies, and a Research Associate position at McGill University, alongside research work at Concordia University leading to a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering.
