Galina Barskaya

Galina Barskaya is a highly accomplished artistic and music director with extensive experience in the opera and music education fields. Currently serving as the Artistic/Music Director, Conductor, and CEO of Independent Opera Company since March 2012, Barskaya also holds the position of Music Director at St. Andrews Lutheran Church and has been involved with Mesopotamian Opera Company as Music Director and Conductor since February 2010. Additional roles include musician at Dominant Club, piano instructor, principal accompanist, and vocal coach at Occidental College since January 2002, as well as previous experience as Music Director and Conductor at Los Angeles Met Opera and Music Director at Emerson UU Church. Barskaya's educational background includes a Master's degree from Kiev State Conservatory and a Bachelor's degree from Kiev Music College.
