OCHIN
Homer Chin, MD, MS, was Associate Medical Director (Clinical Information Systems) at Kaiser Permanente Northwest (KPNW) in Portland, Oregon from 1993 to 2013. He helped lead the selection and implementation of an award-winning ambulatory electronic medical record for KPNW, a system that has now been implemented in all eight Kaiser Permanente Regions.
Homer completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Medical Informatics at Stanford University prior to joining Kaiser Permanente in 1987. He is an affiliate professor at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), an associate for OpenNotes (Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center / Harvard), a member of the Association of Medical Directors for Information Systems (AMDIS), an associate member of the College of Health Information Management Executives (CHIME), and he is a Fellow in the American College of Medical Informatics. Homer is board certified in Internal Medicine.
