Ocumetra
Gareth is Clinical Research Advisor at Ocumetra, providing technical assistance on the development of clinical data analytic tools for the management of childhood myopia. Gareth is passionate about the ability of these tools to improve the clinical management of myopia, leading to lifelong improvements in the vision-related quality of life of young people. Gareth practices as an orthoptist and is currently a postdoctoral research scholar at Technological University Dublin having completed his PhD at the University of Western Australia. He has extensive experience in clinical research into the prevention and treatment of myopia onset and progression, including the benefits spending time outdoors for the prevention of myopia and the treatment of myopia progression. Gareth has interests in combining increasingly available large data sets with novel analytical techniques to better understand and manage myopia among children and adolescents. When not in the office, you can find Gareth fermenting foods (ginger beer is the latest project) or travelling as much of Europe as he can while on the continent.
