John MacFarlane, CPA, CA, has extensive experience in the fields of tax and treasury, currently serving as Director of Enterprise Treasury and Tax Performance at OEC since April 2021. Previously, John held roles as Senior Tax Manager and Tax Manager at Crowe Soberman from October 2017 to April 2021. Prior to that, John worked at BDO Canada as a Senior Tax Accountant and Senior Audit Accountant from January 2013 to June 2017. Early career experience includes positions at General Mills as a Financial Analyst Intern and Hewlett Packard Enterprise as an Operations Demand Analyst. John also gained experience at Economical Insurance as a Co-op Commercial Auto Analyst and at RBC Insurance as a Customer Service Representative. John holds an Honors Bachelor of Business Administration degree with distinction from Wilfrid Laurier University, as well as a completion of the In-depth Tax Course from Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada.
