Alec Thomas has worked in the cyber security field since 2010, when they began their role as a Cyber Security Manager for the US Navy. In 2021, they joined the US Navy Reserves in the same role. Currently, they are a Site Reliability Engineer at Offchain Labs, a position they have held since 2022.
Alec Thomas obtained a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from the United States Naval Academy between 2006 and 2010. Alec then went on to earn a Master's degree in Cyber Operations from Mississippi State University between 2017 and 2018. Additionally, Alec Thomas has obtained four certifications: ITILv3 Foundation from Global Knowledge Training in 2014, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2020, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in 2014, and CompTIA Security+ ce Certification from CompTIA in 2013.
