John W. Gannfors was named Chief Merchandising and Supply Chain Officer for Office Depot, Inc. in August 2018. In this role, Gannfors is responsible for Office Depot’s overall merchandise strategy and functions including buying, planning, product design and development, as well as strategic sourcing. Additionally, Gannfors leads Office Depot’s Transformation Office and oversees the company’s procurement and supply chain functions. Previously, Gannfors served as Executive Vice President Transformation, Strategic Sourcing and Supply Chain.

Gannfors is a global leader with a proven track record of creating immediate value in diverse organizations by driving strategy and strategic alignment, effective operational business transformation and strategic sourcing initiatives. He joined Office Depot after nearly ten years at Lenovo Group Limited, where he was instrumental in driving business results as a key leader in its Data Center Group Global Supply Chain and as its Chief Procurement Officer.

Prior to joining Lenovo, he spent 12 years in leadership roles at Dell. Gannfors began his career in Product Management at Lockheed Martin’s Calcomp division, as well as Definicon Systems. Gannfors earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California Lutheran University.
