Sylvia Dewildt

Sylvia Dewildt, CPA, CA, currently serves as a part-time professor at Mohawk College, teaching Accounting 1 and Financial Statement Concepts since January 2024. In their role as Manager of Financial Reporting at OMERS since April 2022, Sylvia oversees the compilation and review of consolidated financial statements and external reporting, ensuring accuracy and robust internal controls while collaborating on ESG reporting standards. Prior to this, Sylvia was a Manager at Bateman MacKay LLP for seven years, where responsibilities included preparing financial statements and corporate tax returns, overseeing audit processes, and advising clients on accounting issues. Sylvia’s career also includes roles at Hewlett-Packard and various accounting firms, contributing to expertise in financial analysis and compliance. Sylvia holds an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration with a co-op stream in Accounting from Wilfrid Laurier University, completing the degree in 2014.
