One Playground
Nick Whiteway has a diverse work experience in the fitness industry, starting with their role as a Student Representative at UTS: University of Technology, Sydney in 2011. Nick then worked as a Sporting Club Fitness Trainer at Easts Hockey Club Sydney from 2012 to 2014. In 2013, they took on the role of a Development Officer at the Australian Football League. From 2014 to 2015, they served as a Recruitment Committee Member at Easts Hockey Club.
In 2009, Nick Whiteway established their own fitness business called Nick Whiteway Fitness, where they worked as a Fitness Specialist until 2015. During this time, they aimed to help individuals achieve their health, fitness, and wellbeing goals. Nick prioritized educating their clients and creating a relaxed and enjoyable training atmosphere.
From 2012 to 2015, Nick worked at Regenesis Fitness, where they held multiple roles including Assistant Manager and Personal Trainer, Boxing Class Instructor, and Outdoor Group Fitness Instructor. In these roles, they focused on delivering high-quality fitness classes and managing staff.
In 2015, Nick joined West Wood Club as an Operations Manager. Nick was responsible for overseeing the management of a large health club facility, including staff recruitment, training, and development. Nick also implemented process improvements to enhance efficiency.
Nick then joined the Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) in 2019 as a Sports Centre Manager. In this role, they managed a multifaceted sports centre, gym, and exercise studio. Nick developed inclusive health and wellness plans for members with physical disabilities, worked closely with the National Governing Body for disability sport in Ireland, and facilitated training, matches, and events.
In 2018, Nick became the Director of Progressive Fitness Academy, and in 2022, they joined One Playground as the Head Coach.
Nick Whiteway's education history begins in 1996, when they attended All Saints Anglican School for their high school education. After completing high school in 2001, they pursued a Certificate IV in Fitness at the Australian Institute of Fitness in 2008. Following this, they attended the University of Technology Sydney from 2010 to 2013, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Human Movement with a focus on Sports and Exercise.
In 2018 and 2019, Nick Whiteway attended PTS Training Academy, where they acquired a degree in Assessing Vocational Education. Most recently, in 2020 and 2021, they studied at the Institute of Public Administration, earning a Certificate in Governance with a specialization in Governance in Sport.
In addition to their formal education, Nick Whiteway has obtained a Certificate I AFL Coaching from the Australian Football League, although the specific date of achievement is not provided.
