Richard A. Berman

At the University of South Florida, Richard A. Berman serves as interim dean of the Patel College of Global Sustainability, visiting social entrepreneurship professor in the Muma College of Business, and professor in the Institute for Innovation and Discovery. A recognized global leader, Mr. Berman has held positions in health care, education, politics, and management, including working with several foreign governments, the United Nations, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.Mr. Berman has also served as a cabinet level official for the state of New York and has worked with McKinsey & Company, NYU Medical Center, Westchester Medical, Korn-Ferry International, Howe-Lewis International, and numerous startup companies. From 1995 to 2009, he served as president of Manhattanville College, where he is credited with the turnaround of the college, doubling its enrollment during his tenure. Mr. Berman serves on the board of several organizations and is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences. Mr. Berman received his BBA, MBA, and MPH from the University of Michigan and holds honorary doctorates from Manhattanville College and New York Medical College.
